Image Map not working on iOS devices

I have written a program in asp/net webforms, and am using an image map with map hotspots, when these hot spots are clicked in Internet Explorer or Chrome it all works find, but not on the Ipad, when you click on a hot spot nothing happens, is there a fix for this with my current code, or fix with Javascript or another control etc, thanks
