Multiple update panel in a ajax webpage. Update only one at a time

You need to set the following properties for all updatepanels

1. UpdateMode

2. ChildrenAsTriggers

<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1"  runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"                  ChildrenAsTriggers="false" > 
</asp:UpdatePanel>
