aceess speed issue over the internet

but over the internet the acces speed is very very slow & i dont have any images

i am trying to figure out the cause & improve the speed & performance for web application

it takes nearly 12 secs to naviagte from one pag e to another(postback event) which is a very poor perfrmance

so trying to knw the cause & the wasy to improve it
