displaying msg outside update panel

i have the above

when i click save wherever msg get dispalyed in lblsave.text

but positioning of the

  <asp:Label ID="lblsave" for displaying msg is not proper

i have another lablel lblmsg  in modal poup
i need to display msg in lblmsg but i get blank
