How to detect whether Application Pool Services restarted or not in ASP.Net

Hi,

I am updating data in DB through foreach loop, it has around 10000 records, So while running an application if app pool restarted it is not updating anything, So that time i need to update the db to "process stopped"

Any solution will be helpful.
