i have a table employee with calumns

EmpID,Name,Gender

i need a stored procedure where we have to pass parameter gender value

if we dont pass parameter it should execute like select * from table name

if we pass gender value it should execute like select 8 from tablename where gender=value

CREATE PROCEDURE Employee_GetDetailsBasedonGender
@Eid int=0,
@Name nvarchar =null,
@Gender int=0,
@status varchar(max)
As
Begin

if @status='gender_selected'
begin
SELECT * FROM  Employee WHERE Gender = @Gender
end

if @status='all_records'
begin
SELECT * FROM  Employee
end
end
