I have implemented the same solution mentioned by you like i had mentioned in my question.
Issue is even though on postback the grey div on parent appears again with the opendialog code......during the postback the grey layer disappears for a second and then appears after loadmodaldiv() executed after postback... so basically it disappears and appears during postback.
It is like a tubelight... during postback in the child window disappears for a second and appears once the loadmodaldiv executes ... i want to avoid that.
because i have tab controls in my child window.... everytime i navigate across tabs there is flicker behind my screen when the grey layer disappears and appears and it does not look good.
